Rotherham Equipment & Wheelchair Services

Rotherham Community Equipment and Wheelchair Services

Rotherham Equipment and Wheelchair Service (REWS) is a joint integrated NHS and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC). This service provides equipment to meet a health or social care need for people living in Rotherham following an assessment by a suitably qualified professional. The service, delivers, installs, maintains, collects and recycles equipment.

Rotherham Equipment and Wheelchair Service is provided by Medequip assistive Technology in partnership with Ross Care and Blatchford. You can find out more about these providers here:

The service is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. If you have an equipment breakdown that puts your health at risk outside of these hours, please call and you will re-directed to the out-of-hours emergency service.

Self-Service Online Advice Tool

Medequip provide an AskSARA online self-service advice tool to help you find solutions to your daily living problems. It is very simple to use. Just choose the topic you wish to complete, respond to the questions and then go to your report. The report contains useful advice written by the Disabled Living Foundation's team of occupational therapists as well as details of products that might help you. This information is drawn from an impartial database of equipment that aims to include details of every product on the market.

Buying Equipment

If you wish to purchase equipment, Medequip have a small showroom at their service centre. Here you can try out equipment and get advice from a trusted assessor who can support you in identifying the right equipment to suit your needs in remaining independent.

 

Manage @ Home 

Medequip also offers an online retail website www.manageathome.co.uk which offers a range of over 3000 items. You can contact customer services on 0800 910 1864 if you wish to discuss your requirements or if you prefer to order over the phone rather than on the website.

All orders valued at £50 or more are delivered free and Medequip aim to deliver in less than five working days.

Returning equipment

If you need to return any piece of equipment that has been issued to you through Medequip, please contact Medequip directly on 01709 916889 and they will arrange for the equipment to be collected from you.
