The Freedom of Information Act came into full force in January 2005. It gives members of the public a right to request access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability across the public sector.
The Act sets out exemptions to that right and places certain obligations on public authorities. More information regarding the Freedom of Information Act can be found by clicking on National Archives and www.ico.gov.uk
All requests for information under the Freedom of Information should be received in writing with your name and contact details clearly stated and a clear description of the information you are enquiring about.
Before you submit your request please view the FOI request archive where the information you request may already be available:
you can email the request to:

Freedom of information OfficerPlease note that public organisations such as NHS Rotherham CCG will often hold information as part of their normal activities, which cannot be expected to make public. This is recognised under the Freedom of Information Act which provides exemptions for this.
The Freedom of Information Officer deals with all aspects of information requests from the general public and staff under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The Officer is a first point of contact for all requests received and then forwards the request onto the relevant department/bodies, monitors and logs the request, decides whether to disclose the information and aims to ensure that the deadlines set by the Information Commissioner are met.
By law all organisations have to deal with such requests within 20 working days
Some requests for information may be subject to a fee. If so, we will contact you before we proceed with your request.
The Freedom of Information Act and the associated Fees Regulations stipulate that we cannot levy a fee for information unless there is a statutory basis for doing so or the amount of time taken to locate the information exceeds 18 hours.
However, we are allowed to charge for disbursements related to the provision of photocopying, reformatting information and postage, depending on the amount of materials used. If this is the case applicants will be made aware of any charges beforehand.
No charges will be made for any information accessed via our website.
If you make a request and are not satisfied with the way in which we deal with it you may ask us to review any decision we make. If you wish us to undertake such a review you should write to the address above.
Any review will normally be under the control and direction of a senior member of staff who had no involvement in the original decision or process.
If you remain dissatisfied at the conclusion of any review you may complain to the Information Commissioner:
