CCG 1308 Survey commissioned by NHS England to look into Continuing Healthcare patients on a Personal Health Budget

As you are probably aware, a survey has been commissioned by NHS England to look into the experiences of patients on Continuing Healthcare who receive a Personal Health Budget.

https://surveys.quality-health.co.uk/Questionnaire/Anonymous/PHIBUR18

It has been brought to my attention that some CCGs have chosen not distribute this to the PHB holders that they support. With this in mind, can the CCG please confirm:

This is an important opportunity for PHB holders to be able to feedback about their experiences, and help to identify key areas for improvement on a nationwide level. I hope that the CCG will support all PHB holders by providing them with this information.

Request 1

How many patients receive a Personal Health Budget in your area?

Response 1

99.

Request 2

How many of these patients have been made aware of the survey?

Response 2

0.

Request 3

If a decision has been made to not promote the survey, can you please explain why?

Response 3

The CCG currently has a direct email address where patients and their representative can feedback there experience of PHB, further to this the CCG is scoping and developing a form of feedback to roll out later this year, we are considering options that will ensure that the form of feedback will be accessible to as many of our PHB holders as possible, this is because a high proportion of our patients and their representatives are not likely to have internet access.

Request 4

If the CCG has not yet promoted the survey but intends to so in the near future, when will PHB holders be contacted with the information [nb. the survey opened at the beginning of March and will be open until the end of April]?

Response 4

As above, the CCG plans to develop their own feedback form and there is currently an email for patients to give feedback should they wish to do so.
