Request 1

When reporting monthly counts of MRSA cases what procedure do you follow to distinguish between health care associated infections and livestock associated infections?

Response 1

The Post Infection Review (PIR) process that is national guidance from NHS England is followed using the toolkit to assess the likely source of infection.

Request 2

Please provide, for the last five years, monthly counts of livestock associated MRSA cases in your CCG. If monthly counts would be too time consuming to provide then please provide yearly totals for the last five years.

Response 2

Zero. Records are held from April 2013 when the CCGs was established.

Request 3

For each case of livestock associated MRSA in the last five years I would like to know: the cause of the infection, the source of the infection, the duration of treatment, and the outcome of the case.

Response 3

Not Applicable.
