CCG 551 Is your GP OOH service required or recommended to meet a minimum staffing level?

Re: GP out of hours (OOH) services:

Request 1

Is your GP OOH service required or recommended to meet a minimum staffing level?

Response 1

The GP OOHs contract is part of a joint contract with Barnsley CCG and also include provision for a Walk In Centre.  The recommended staffing level outlined in the contract covers all these parts of the contract and it is difficult to separate out recommended minimum staffing levels for Rotherham GP OOHs service.

Request 2

If so, what is the requirement or recommendation?

Response 2

Please see response 1.

Request 3

Is this staffing level a contractual requirement?

Response 3

Please see response 1.

Request 4

On how many occasions per month for the past 6 months has your GP OOH provider failed to meet that minimum staffing requirement/recommendation?

Response 4

This is not routinely monitored by the CCG.  The service is routinely performance managed against both performance and quality measures.

Request 5

Please detail for each occasion how far below the required/recommended staffing level the service was?

Response 5

Please see response 4.

Request 6

What sanctions have been applied to the GP OOH provider in the past 6 months due to failure to meet a minimum staffing level?

Response 6

Please see response 4.
