This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. 

  1. How many GPs in your area have taken ’24-hour retirement’ under the NHS Pension Scheme and returned part- or full- time to the same role in each of the last three financial years (please give separate figures for each year)?
  1. If you set an alternative minimum ‘retirement’ period (other than 24 hours) before returning, please provide those figures – and stipulate what your minimum period is. 
  1. What was the youngest age that somebody ‘retired and returned’ over those three years?
