Request 1 - How many GP surgeries open for patient appointments on a Saturday or a Sunday? 

Response 1 – Rotherham CCG do not hold this information. Please contact NHS England 

Request 2 - What is your emergency doctor service when gp surgeries are closed? 

Response 2 – Patients will phone NHS 111 which will refer on to the GP Out of Hours service if appropriate. 

Request 3 - do you offer telephone advice? 

Response 3 – Yes – NHS 111 and GP Out of Hours. 

Request 4 - Do you offer clinic appointments? 

Response 4 – Yes GP Out of Hours 

Request 5 - if so, how many per day during the week and on a weekend? 

Response 5 – Numbers of appointments will differ depending on bank holidays and some seasonal variations.  There was a total of 10131 face to face appointments at the primary care centre provided by the Rotherham GP OOHs service between January 2014 and December 2014. 

Request 6 - do you have a walk in centre? 

Response 6 – Yes 

Request 7 - do you offer home visits to patients? 

Response 7 – Yes – GP Out of Hours service. 

Request 8 - do you offer minibus pickup service for patients who need help? 

Response 8 – Yes – GP Out of Hours service.

Request 9 - What waiting times are there for seeing a doctor?

 

Response 9 – Both the GP Out of Hours service and the Walk in Centre have targets for waiting times for patients. 

 

GP Out of Hours service:

  1. Emergency primary care centre appointments = 95% within 60 minutes
  2. Emergency home visits = 100% within 60 minutes
  3. Urgent home visits = 98% within 120 minutes
  4. Less urgent home visits = 98% within 360 minutes.

Walk In Centre

  1. Emergency and urgent cases to be seen by a clinician = 95% within 10 minutes.
  2. Emergency and urgent cases to be discharged = 100% within 40 minutes.
  3. Less urgent cases to be discharged = 98% within 180 minutes.
